# ‘Great news!’, ‘Superb’ – Liverpool fans are delighted after club announcement

***The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been celebrating all day long…***

One of the most historic clubs in England, Liverpool have often paid homage to former stars, and whilst under Jurgen Klopp they are busy building a new period of sustained success – the Reds have taken time out to pay tribute to one of their own this week.

[As confirmed on the official Liverpool website](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/announcements/262233-centenary-stand-to-be-renamed-the-kenny-dalglish-stand), the club have decided to name the Centenary Stand at Anfield after a hero of the club – Kenny Dalglish. Aptly titled ‘The Kenny Dalglish Stand’, there is no doubting that the ex-Liverpool ace certainly deserves the honour that has been bestowed upon him.

A regular as a player during his time with the club, and following a couple of successful spells as manager, Kenny Dalglish is a real fan favourite amongst the Reds in the Transfer Tavern, and so it is no surprise that he is remembered fondly amongst fans.

It is a very similar tale on Twitter, with supporters of Liverpool taking to the social media site to celebrate the news. Near unanimously, supporters have been voicing their admiration for the decision…
