# Guardiola already dictating Man City transfer business, making brave decision about midfielder

![gundogangundogangundogan](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/gundogangundogangundogan-500x366.jpg)Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are going to back their new manager Pep Guardiola after he has made a brave decision heading into the summer transfer window.

According to the [Mail Online](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3597674/Pep-Guardiola-keen-bring-Ilkay-Gundogan-Manchester-City-despite-Borussia-Dortmund-midfielder-suffering-major-injury.html), Manchester City will pursue Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan despite his most recent injury.

Recently the 25-year-old was devastatingly ruled out of Euro 2016 after he disclocated his kneecap.

Plenty of people in the Tavern thought this set back would also end his prospects of a potential move to the Etihad.

But [apparently Gundogan](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3597674/Pep-Guardiola-keen-bring-Ilkay-Gundogan-Manchester-City-despite-Borussia-Dortmund-midfielder-suffering-major-injury.html)has emerged as one of Guardiola’s priorities heading into the transfer window, in what is a bold move from the Spanish manager!

This transfer could arguably make the German international a replacement for Yaya Toure [who is in talks with Inter Milan.](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3597674/Pep-Guardiola-keen-bring-Ilkay-Gundogan-Manchester-City-despite-Borussia-Dortmund-midfielder-suffering-major-injury.html)

Another midfielder the former Barcelona manager has his eyes [on is Toni Kroos](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3597674/Pep-Guardiola-keen-bring-Ilkay-Gundogan-Manchester-City-despite-Borussia-Dortmund-midfielder-suffering-major-injury.html), but it’s [unlikely that Real Madrid will be](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3597674/Pep-Guardiola-keen-bring-Ilkay-Gundogan-Manchester-City-despite-Borussia-Dortmund-midfielder-suffering-major-injury.html)willing to let him go.

Our resident City fans here in the Tavern have faith in Guardiola, and feel that a fully-fit Gundogan would be a fantastic player to have in the starting eleven next season.
