# Arsenal: Fans slate Alexis Sanchez after Karim Benzema jibe

**Plenty of Arsenal fans have slated Alexis Sanchez after a Twitter [post](https://twitter.com/PatrickTimmons1/status/1245705040490303489) from a fan compared his time at the north London club to ‘F1’ as opposed to ‘Go Karting’ at Manchester United.**

This analogy is relayed from comments by Karim Benzema after the Frenchman compared himself to an F1 car as opposed to former Gunners player Olivier Giroud, who he [described as a ‘kart’](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/11300657/chelsea-giroud-benzema-kart-truth/).

This is an interesting comparison considering their statistics for their national team. Benzema had [scored](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/karim-benzema/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/18922/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) 27 senior goals in 81 caps, giving him a scoring ratio of one in three, whereas Giroud has scored 39 senior goals in 97 caps, giving him a ratio of just over 40%, more than his striker compatriot, according to [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-giroud/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/82442/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=).

However, the statistics of Sanchez when he was at Arsenal compared to United make more sense for the comparison. The Chilean international [scored](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexis-sanchez/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/40433/plus/0?saison=&verein=11&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) 80 goals in 166 appearances for the Gunners, giving him a goal ratio of just over 48%, whereas for the Red Devils he has scored just five goals in 45 games, giving a ratio of one in nine, as per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexis-sanchez/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/40433/plus/0?saison=&verein=985&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=).

One can understand the analogy based on these statistics, as these Arsenal supporters slated their former man:

> Ruined his career with this transfer imagine if he stayed👀

> it was so fun to watch. he could have left as a legend but he was too greedy to do so. he might be enjoying his paychecks but I’m sure he miss that beautiful football.
