# West Ham United: Fans react to the announcement of free travel for rearranged fixture

**Many West Ham fans were dealt a blow with the news on Sunday that the match against Manchester City was postponed due to bad weather conditions.**

However, it was not a disastrous day as relegation rivals Bournemouth lost at Sheffield United while the rearranged fixture could work in their favour due to City’s [hectic fixture schedule](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7984103/Manchester-City-face-huge-fixture-pile-West-Ham-postponement-worse.html). Indeed, perhaps fatigue may give the Hammers a greater chance of getting something from their visit to the Etihad, particularly if they are roared on with the same level of vocal away support as a weekend game would attract.

To ensure that happens the club has [announced](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1226492010200227843) it will lay on free coach travel for supporters wishing to attend, a nice gesture that may be an attempt by the board to win back some [disgruntled fans](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10923554/west-ham-gale-lomas-fan-protests-moyes/).

Some recognise the act as a generous offer and have praised the decision as a result, but others are focusing instead on the hardship of those who travelled only to see no match and want financial compensation for their travails.

***What do you make of the gesture from the board West Ham fans? Is it a nice idea or has the damage already been done…***
