Reports emerging over the last few days suggest that long-time transfer target Emir Saphic, a defender from Montpellier, will join Aston Villa as Gerard Houllier continues to work magic in this transfer window.
Arsene Wenger had been tracking the Bosnian international for quite some time but it now looks as if Saphic will move to Villa Park, with Richard Dunne apparently heading to the Emirates, in a move that will satisfy all parties.
Saphic would get his much-coveted move to the Premiership, and Villa would get a versatile performer at left-back or centre-back. Whilst Arsenal could alleviate their problems in the centre of defence by signing a hardened and experienced Premier League centre-back, who is sometimes prolific in front of goal (well, his own at least).

Silentstan – Dunne was in the bloody PFA team of the year last season, and won Man City’s player of the season about 5 times in a row. How that is not good enough for arsenal and how you can have a go at one of the best managers in the world is completely ridiculous.
