# Huge name tempted by summer move to Manchester United

![Varane.jpg](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Varane-500x331.jpg)Manchester United may find a huge deal fall into their hands this summer, with fans in the Transfer Tavern discussing a prime move that could be on the cards.

[*Le10Sport*](https://www.le10sport.com/football/mercato/mercato-real-madrid-raphael-varane-doit-il-s-en-aller-229510)[claim](https://www.le10sport.com/football/mercato/mercato-real-madrid-raphael-varane-doit-il-s-en-aller-229510) Real Madrid’s prime defensive prospect Raphael Varane is tempted by Manchester United this summer, deeming a move to the Premier League side as a ‘challenging’ prospect.

The Red Devils have held long-term interest in the French international, who’s found first-team football with Real Madrid difficult to guarantee and with a major overhaul set for the summer, his place is once again in jeopardy.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are crying out for a leading central defender to improve their ranks and Varane would fit their preferences of boasting top quality youngsters- with the Red Devils already having Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial.

At 22-years-old, Varane now needs regular football and with competition at Real Madrid from Sergio Ramos and Pepe it’s not guaranteed- and the defender will be keen to cement a place at the heart of France’s defence for the 2018 World Cup.
