# Leeds: Beren Cross makes Ian Poveda claim

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) forward Ian Poveda is attracting interest from clubs in three different countries, according to [Beren Cross](https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/leeds-united-raphinha-shackleton-poveda-24441040).**

### The Lowdown: Raphinha and Harrison linked with exits

The Whites have been extremely busy so far this summer with [six](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leeds-united/transfers/verein/399) new signings, while they have also parted ways with Kalvin Phillips.

More exits look likely, with star man Raphinha [remaining in England](https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/30067/australia-squad-list-confirmed) to [sort out his future](https://www.teamtalk.com/leeds-united/raphinha-transfer-news-pre-season-place-revealed-barcelona-talks) instead of travelling to Australia for the club’s pre-season tour.

Jack Harrison did [travel](https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/30067/australia-squad-list-confirmed) but has been [linked](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10997807/Newcastle-weighing-bid-Jack-Harrison-cheaper-alternative-Moussa-Diaby.html) with a move away, and it looks as if Poveda could also be on the move this summer.

### The Latest: Cross’ claim on Poveda

According to [Leeds Live](https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/leeds-united-raphinha-shackleton-poveda-24441040) journalist Cross, the 22-year-old is attracting interest from clubs in England, Spain and USA.

A potential loan move could be on the cards, with Cross adding that ‘there remains an interest in retaining Poveda’s services beyond the end of any loan switch’.

### The Verdict: Loan move needed

Poveda, who Noel Whelan labelled [‘exciting’](https://www.footballinsider247.com/whelan-something-is-not-right-with-costa-after-what-i-saw-at-leeds-last-night/), spent last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers but was limited to just [10](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ian-poveda/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/392763/verein/164) appearances due to injury.

Another temporary move away from Elland Road could be best for all involved, particularly for the forward who can play [anywhere](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ian-poveda/leistungsdaten/spieler/392763) across the front three.

Still just 22 years of age, there is no need for Leeds to rush into a permanent sale, and a productive loan spell away could possibly launch him into Jesse Marsch’s long-term plans.
