# ‘I’m worried’, ‘Move on’ – A lot of Newcastle United fans are feeling cautious about rumour

**The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern are nervous over this transfer rumour as things don’t seem right. According to Italian journalist** **Giulia Stronati on Twitter, Newcastle have offered a bid of £14 million plus bonuses for Juventus’ midfield, Stefano Sturaro.**

Whilst it’s not up for debate that the Magpies keeping our bar afloat are desperate for new signings this summer, they want the club to spend money on the right players. Under different circumstances, the fans might be excited about signing a fringe player from Juventus. Last summer the fans watched on as Mario Lemina joined Southampton and starred for the Saints, although this move for Sturaro could go very differently.

The Geordies have been reading tweets from Juventus fans who can’t wait to offload the midfielder and it hardly fills them with confidence as they sit on the brink of splashing out a sizeable fee for the Italian. It’s no secret that Mike Ashley hasn’t made much cash available for Rafa Benitez and if a large chunk of that money goes towards a payer destined to flop then it won’t do much in keeping an already irate fanbase happy.

You can read our local Geordies’ nervous thoughts on the Sturaro news here:

> As a Serie A fanatic Sturaro is an average player at best but only a squad player id rather keep Diame than buying the Italian tbh I’d not be too upset if we miss out on him

> Take it with a pinch of salt. A squad player at Juve probably won't improve the team that much if true. Move on

> I am scared actually, what's so special about this guy, even his own fans want him out, Benitez did bought a few rotten eggs in his time at [#NUFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/NUFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) and I'm afraid this's one big giant one that might look good on the outside, ohhh a Juve player but it's so rotten on the inside …

The Newcastle fans in the Tavern will be keen to get some signings over the line soon, but they’re not sure about this one as the potential for Sturaro to flop is very real.
