Introducing: Everton Soares as the ideal man to lead the West Ham attack

If West Ham United had a striker that could find the back of the net on a regular basis, who knows where Manuel Pellegrini’s side would be in the Premier League table! Yes, there are inconsistencies across the whole squad at times that have been glaringly evident at times, however, the lack of a forward has really hurt them.

It was always going to be difficult to predict how things would have turned out for the Hammers almost a season after a rather expensive transfer window and with Pellegrini’s first year in charge, but now he has an idea of where he still needs to add strength to his side, the club must act upon it in the summer.

Reports have stated that the Irons could undergo a mass exodus in the attacking department once the campaign comes to an end, with the likes of Andy Carroll, Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez and Lucas Perez all seemingly failing to make the grade.

With that in mind, it would not be unfair to suggest that West Ham could be on the lookout for a couple of additions to spearhead their attack, however, they must ensure they make Everton Soares a priority.

Calciomercato recently linked the London Stadium outfit with a move for the Brazil international and have stated the Premier League side have been following the Gremio star rather closely. The Italian media outlet also made bold claims suggesting the 23-year-old could be available for a transfer between €20million and €30million (£17.2m-£25.8m), despite the €60m release clause in his contract.

If those valuations have any truth to them, then West Ham must seriously look at making a deal and bring him to England.

Everton has an exceptional ability of being able to play in front of goal, whilst he can also offer the Hammers versatility in the final third as he can also play on either flank as well. Those options would come extremely useful to Pellegrini as he would have some additional choices, should the Irons be hit with another injury crisis like this season.

The 23-year-old, who has recently made a return to the Brazilian national team, would be able to link up with Felipe Anderson and the flair the two could bring to the side could help to take them to the next level as they would become even more dangerous going forward.

Everton’s also really good on the ball, as he has excellent control with it at his feet, whilst he has some incredible footwork that makes it extremely difficult for defenders to win it back from him. Blessed with pace and sharpness in the penalty area, the Gremio forward can also pick out a pass and provide his team-mates with the perfect opportunity to score.

Yes, there will be doubts about whether he could succeed in English football, however, with a number of South Americans already at the club and within the country, he could find it easier to adapt and settle down, whilst he still has a number of years ahead of him in the game.

West Ham are likely to have a battle on their hands to bring him to the London Stadium if they decide to go in for him, with the likes of Manchester United, AS Roma and AC Milan all said to be interested, but they must do all they can to get a deal over the line.

West Ham fans, do you think Everton could be the ideal forward for you to bring to the London Stadium? Do you think he could team up with Anderson and add some extra quality to the side? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
