Sheffield Wednesday were unlucky to be on the losing side against Middlesbrough on Friday.
Some silly errors cost The Owls in the end, particularly the erroneous pass that led to Britt Assombalonga’s goal. Jos Luhukay’s men were on a good run, unbeaten in their previous four games, including taking a point from both West Brom and Leeds.
However, Tony Pulis’ men took all the spoils at Hillsborough on Friday night, leaving The Owls to head to Loftus Road tonight to face QPR hoping to return to their winning ways.
While there were a few bad performances against The Boro, there were also some performances that Luhukay will want to build on, particularly Adam Reach’s. The attacking midfielder’s display wasn’t simply marked by the stunning late goal that he scored, but his attacking threat throughout the night.
Reach was by far Sheffield Wednesday’s most dangerous attacker, who The Boro struggled to contain throughout the game. If he is at the same level against Steve McClaren’s men tonight, there is a good chance that he will not only be on the score sheet again, but his side will find the win again.
The Owls are currently in 11th place in the Championship. However, they are only two points behind sixth place Norwich, meaning a win tonight, and other results going the club’s way, could see Sheffield Wednesday in a promotion place by tonight. However, a loss could see QPR, who have struggled at times this season, leapfrog Luhukay’s men in the league.
