Liverpool will be desperate to secure the Premier League title in the current campaign, having defied expectations up until this point.
The Reds have managed to secure a number of outstanding signings in seasons gone by, but it now appears as if one of Liverpool’s youth players is making great strides.
Indeed, having witnessed the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez’s rise to stardom in recent years, it comes as no surprise that another youngster is excelling this season.
Liverpool secured the services of Ki-Jana Hoever from Ajax back in the summer transfer window, but this was a move with the future in mind as the 16-year-old went straight into the youth ranks.
He has produced a number of impressive performances against some of the best young attackers in world football, which definitely deserves some kind of recognition. Indeed, the defender has come on leaps and bounds in the current campaign, which has earned him a call-up to train with Jurgen Klopp and the first-team squad.
The youngster is a Dutch youth international, so he will be desperate to follow in the footsteps of Virgil Van Dijk, who has established himself as one of the best defenders in world football this season.
Tall, fast, composed, comfortable in possession, with fine distribution and the ability to play at right-back or centre-back, the teenager has made it difficult for the Reds to keep a lid on his bubbling potential.
So, with first-team football possibly coming into the picture at the age of 16, it’s safe to say that the club’s decision to bring him in back in the summer transfer window may have gifted them their next Anfield hero.
