Liverpool have been the standout performers in the Premier League this season, with their unbeaten league record still intact.
The Reds have come on leaps and bounds under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp in the current campaign, as they continue to edge closer towards securing an elusive piece of silverware.
However, one of the biggest problems that the Merseyside club has faced in the current campaign is getting the best out of one of last season’s heroes, Roberto Firmino.
But, Klopp may already have a trick up his sleeve as one of the club’s fringe players could step in to save the day.
Roberto Firmino managed to produce a whopping 27 goals and 17 assists for Liverpool last season as one of the standout performers at the club, and was a part of the Reds’ dangerous front three.
However, things haven’t gone to plan for the Brazilian in all competitions in the current campaign as he currently only has six goals and three assists to his name, which is hugely disappointing when you take last season’s form and statistics into consideration.
So, with Firmino failing to live up to expectations at this moment in time, Klopp could pull off a masterstroke by transforming Divock Origi, who is valued at £9 million (by Transfermarkt), into Liverpool’s No. 9.
The Frenchman has struggled to work his way into Jurgen Klopp’s plans in the current campaign, with one of his two Premier League appearance coming against Everton in the Merseyside derby, where he managed to score the winning goal in the dying embers at Anfield.
Origi scored 11 goals and provided four assists a couple of seasons back and already has one goal and one assist to his name in 72 minutes of Premier League football this season, so he has already proved that he can step up to the plate in the Premier League and could be a real asset for the Reds if given the chance.
