Leicester City fans will now believe that their club has the right man at the helm as Brendan Rodgers achieved an awful lot of success during his time at Celtic. And, he’s already managed to enjoy some success at the King Power Stadium as the Foxes are currently on a two-game winning streak.
But, the one thing that hasn’t been filling fans with joy in recent times has been Harry Maguire’s future, as according to the Daily Star, Manchester United are confident of landing the Englishman this summer.
Maguire has been one of the standout performers for the Foxes over the past season or so and his leadership qualities at the back have worked wonders, so the last thing fans would want is to see him leave.
The next step for Harry Maguire is to move to a side that can provide European football to really help him progress and chase his dreams, so it would make sense for Rodgers to weigh up potential replacements.
Interestingly, it appears as if the Midlands club already have one player in their sights, as according to Marca (via Leicestershire Live), Leicester City are interested in signing Getafe’s Djene Dakonam.
Indeed, the Togo international has made a name for himself over in Spain this season as he’s established himself as one of the best defenders in La Liga. He’s very similar to Maguire in many ways as he looks to use his strength and aerial ability to dominate the opposition’s strikers, as well as being able to play the ball out from the back.
Although, the Foxes will need to splash the cash if they are to bring him to England as his release clause is currently set at £30 million. But, with Leicester inevitably selling Maguire for more than £30 million if he leaves in the summer, it would make perfect sense to pay the price for the King Power Stadium’s new potential hero.
Leicester City fans, do you think Dakonam has what it takes to potentially replace Maguire? Join the discussion by commenting down below!
