Liverpool are in a very promising position in the Premier League, with their title fate in their own hands at this moment in time.
The Reds will be desperate not to force a repeat of their second-place finish under Brendan Rodgers, as they threw their promising title position away at Selhurst Park.
However, one thing that is currently halting Liverpool’s progress is an injury to one of their star players, as Trent Alexander-Arnold suffered a knee injury recently.
So, with the right-back set to spent time out on the sidelines, perhaps the Reds should bring in a replacement.
The 20-year-old was injured in the warm-up before Saturday’s 1-0 win at Brighton. But, Jurgen Klopp risked him at the Amex Stadium, and he was able to play the full 90 minutes but now faces an extended spell out.
Indeed, the Englishman is expected (as per BBC Sport) to be sidelined for at least a fortnight with a knee problem.
So, Jurgen Klopp desperately needs to find a replacement for the youngster as Joe Gomez is currently out injured and Nathaniel Clyne was recently sent out on loan to Bournemouth, so James Milner is the only other option.
One player who could fill the void left by Alexander-Arnold is RB Leipzig’s Lukas Klostermann.
The German has established himself as one of the most promising full-backs in Europe over the past season or so, with two goals and two assists to his name in the current campaign. He also has Champions League experience, so he could easily slot right into proceedings in Europe if Alexander-Arnold was to suffer another injury.
Klostermann is impressive going backwards and forwards, while operating at a high-paced tempo on the field, which is perfect for Liverpool’s style of play as Klopp encourages his full-backs to fly forward. And, with pretty much his whole career ahead of him at just 22 years of age, he could turn out to be another gem signing for the Reds.
