Aston Villa fans will be eagerly anticipating their team’s match with Swansea tomorrow, being the first game under new manager Dean Smith.
Fans have had to endure quite a lacklustre start to the season, seeing The Villans fall to 15th place in the Championship table, having reached the play-off final last season. This poor started culminated in the sacking of Steve Bruce as manager, and the new manager Smith will be seen as a breath of fresh air by many.
Smith’s attacking style of football that he exemplified while managing Brentford will only serve Aston Villa well, who have an array of talented attackers in their ranks. One of those men is 21-year-old Tammy Abraham.
Since joining on loan from Chelsea in the summer, the England international has had a fairly tame spell. He has become a regular, scoring three times, but hasn’t exactly been able to help the club during their lean spell with results, which has seen them go 11 games without a win in all competitions.
Smith may well give the player a new lease of life, as he will hope to impress his parent club Chelsea. He was deemed surplus to requirements at the beginning of the season, and has done nothing so far to prove otherwise.
Furthermore, he is playing against the team he played for on loan last season. This sometimes causes players to pull everything that they can out, as well as the added bonus of knowing the players that you are playing against.
Tomorrow is the beginning of the Smith era at Villa Park, and Abraham may be the man to start it with a bang.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
