Things are not set to get any easier for Crystal Palace following their 2-0 Premier League defeat to Everton last weekend with a London derby against an in-form Arsenal now awaiting them.
Unai Emery’s men are currently on an 11-match winning run in all competitions after they beat Sporting Lisbon 1-0 in the Europa League on Thursday, putting into perspective how difficult a task Crystal Palace face.
It is a task, however, that the team should be relishing. And none more so than talisman Wilfried Zaha.
The 25-year-old is one of the most dangerous forwards the Premier League has to offer and will undoubtedly feel he can get the upper hand over Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin on Sunday.
The Spain international’s pace makes him one of the most efficient full-backs in the division going forward but, defensively, he is far from the finished article and is someone Crystal Palace can look to exploit.
As well as having the acceleration to get past defenders, Zaha also possesses the kind of technical skill that can leave an opponent for dead, something the Eagles must look to utilise when Arsenal make the trip from north London to south London.
1v1, Zaha has the ability to destroy Bellerin and create chances for his team-mates or fashion out goal-scoring opportunities for himself once beating the Arsenal man.
It is certainly one battle to lookout for, but one that Zaha is more than capable of winning.
