It’s been a tough season for Charlton fans to endure this year thanks to their terrible owner Roland Duchatelet.
Despite all the off-field issues hanging over Charlton this season, Lee Bowyer has managed to keep them competitive and they currently sit fifth in the table, three points off Sunderland in third.
Thanks to the form of Lyle Taylor and Charlton youth academy product, Karlan Grant, Charlton have managed to keep themselves afloat in the league after losing star man Jake Forster-Caskey to injury earlier in the season. In his wake, however, another one of Charlton’s stars has stepped up and in Joe Aribo they have a player that has been of the stars of Charlton’s season so far.
According to reports, the midfielder is set to leave the club in the summer as his contract runs out in six months. The club had offered the midfielder a new deal, albeit for half the amount they had offered him over the summer and it looks as though the youngster is yet another one of the player’s to have suffered from Duchatelet’s management of Charlton.
Rangey and talented with the ball at his feet, Aribo has scored five goals in the Championship this season while also creating a further two. In a league that is dynamic and very fast, Aribo would be an ideal fit and he could yet be another talent to leave the club following the departures of Ezri Konsa, Ademola Lookman and Joe Gomez. He’s a superb talent and losing him won’t help the relationship between the owner and the fans.
