TT Introducing: Newcastle’s wonderkid Elias Sorensen

Newcastle used to be a club that brought through some of the best talent in the country but in recent years not many of them have become a consistent first-team player at the club.

Most recently, Paul Dummett has been the latest recruit to get into the first-team although Freddie Woodman and the Longstaff brothers are knocking at the door. They could all soon find themselves in the first-team in the near future but there is another player in the academy who has been in blistering form and that is Elias Sorensen.

With Newcastle struggling to score goals this season, Benitez must look to bring academy hotshot, Sorensen into the first-team. The young Dane joined the cub in 2016 and has quickly established himself as one of the best players to have come through the academy in recent years.

According to The Sun, Newcastle have offered the young striker an improved deal but he is still yet to sign it and could well depart the club. While he may be young, Newcastle can ill afford to lose such a talent.

His goalscoring record has been superb and as it stands thanks to his goals, Newcastle have won their last three games and sit sixth in the table. The striker is always looking to get in behind the defence and is always alive in the box. With good service, he always looks like he could score goals.

He might not be an instant starter for the side but what he could be, is a future star that may well have a long-term future at the north-east side.
