Stoke City face Birmingham this weekend in what is a battle between two sides that are strongly at risk of being pulled into the relegation places.
Stoke’s season has been fairly poor so far this year as Gary Rowett’s men have failed to live up to expectations so far this season and are currently sitting in 14th place in the league.
The Potters need to win against Birmingham but they’re going up against a side that is starting to put together some form this season under Garry Monk. However, the club’s star man, Tom Ince looks like he could well cause Michael Morrison a few problems today.
The talented attacker seems like he’s starting to replicate the form he showed during his time at Derby and amid a team that is seriously underperforming, Ince has been one of the lone stars for Stoke.
Last season the attacker was poor and only scored two goals in 33 games for Huddersfield but so far this season he’s already bettered that form, scoring three goals to go with two assists.
Despite seeing an improvement in the side’s form of late, with Ince, Afobe and McClean, Stoke definitely have the attack to beat Birmingham and could be a serious threat to Monk’s defensive partnership of Michael Morrison and Harlee Dean. Although Birmingham City has a fairly solid defence, with Ince as the main creator, it seems likely that they could well be in for a busy afternoon against a side that is desperate for wins under Rowett.
