Crystal Palace travel to Everton tomorrow in a game where both sides need to win in order to avoid being sucked into the relegation pack.
Palace currently sit 14th in the table after a fairly inconsistent start to the season and their fate lies on the form of their mercurial winger, Wilfried Zaha.
The talented winger, may not be fit for tomorrow’s game as he will be assessed this morning but if he is, the Everton defence could be in for a terrible afternoon.
Everton’s defence has been inconsistent at best and has conceded 12 goals in the league this season.
Zaha withdrew from Ivory Coast’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Central African Republic earlier this week with a suspected adductor injury. Hodgson confirmed Zaha had suffered a strain but denied whether the winger would be out for a sustained period of time.
Without Zaha, Palace presents barely any threat going forward. The winger has played seven games this season and has scored three goals while also grabbing one assist. Worryingly for Palace fans, the club has only scored five goals this season but goes against Everton side that has had a fairly poor defence this season.
In Lucas Digne, Everton have a fullback that has started his career in Merseyside well but could also be caught out on the counter as he leaves space in behind. When fit, Zaha is one of the best players in the league and has the ability to win a game on his own. If he’s on the bus come tomorrow, Everton’s defence should be very wary of what could happen.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
