# Ipswich Town: Fans unhappy with FA Cup first round draw

**Ipswich will play Lincoln at home in the first round of the FA Cup next month, with the draw being made on Monday night. \[[via TheFA.com](https://www.thefa.com/news/2019/oct/21/fa-cup-first-round-draw-211019)\]**

The tie is scheduled for the weekend of November 9th/10th, with the Portman Road club’s official Twitter channel [@IpswichTown](https://twitter.com/IpswichTown/status/1186345175657746433) informing followers of the impending fixture after the draw was made.

The teams met in the third round of the competition three seasons ago, when Lincoln caused a massive upset by [eliminating the Tractor Boys after a replay](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/38565597) – Ipswich were [three divisions above the Imps at the time](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/38565597), but they are now [both in League One](https://www.skysports.com/league-1-table).

The relegation of Paul Lambert’s team from the Championship last season means they will begin their FA Cup run two months earlier than in recent years, when they [joined in the third round](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ipswich-town/pokalhistorie/verein/677) due to their [presence in the top two divisions of English football](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ipswich-town/platzierungen/verein/677).

Ipswich will hope to end a miserable FA Cup run stretching back almost a decade – having [lost to Accrington Stanley](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/46706805) in the third round last term, their most recent win in the competition came against Blackpool in January 2010, as per [East Anglian Daily Times](https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/town-s-fa-cup-third-round-wins-1-5839828).
