# West Ham United: Fans excited by Said Benrahma transfer update

**West Ham United are hoping to sign Brentford winger [Said Benrahma](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-ham-transfer-rumours/benrahma-fee-agreed/), much to the excitement of many Irons supporters.**

According to [Claret and Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/), and as tweeted by [@whufc\_news](https://twitter.com/whufc_news/status/1316138239363866624?s=20), Benrahma is expected to fly back to London tonight or tomorrow and could have a medical with West Ham as soon as he returns, with the Hammers hoping that he will pen a five-year contract.

Benrahma had a terrific campaign last season for the Bees as he scored 17 goals and also supplied nine assists, per [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/137021/History/Sa%C3%AFd-Benrahma). He often proved a menace for opposition defences as he averaged 3.8 shots, 2.1 key passes and three successful dribbles per game.

West Ham’s wide options have been depleted by the [loan exit of Felipe Anderson](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-transfer-news-felipe-anderson-fc-porto-loan-said-benrahma-a4565006.html) to FC Porto and the permanent sale of academy prospect Grady [Diangana](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/grady-diangana/profil/spieler/342048) to West Brom, which left many Irons [fans](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/grady-diangana-west-brom-transfer-18882974) and some [players](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54034555) infuriated. As such, Benrahma could be the perfect addition to bring some quality to the attack.

### Here is how Irons fans are reacting following the reports about Benrahma:
