# West Ham United: Fans react to David Sullivan’s comments about the transfer window

**West Ham United have not had the greatest start to the Premier League season as they have [lost both their games](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results) to Newcastle United and Arsenal.**

The Irons’ only [signing](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/startseite/verein/379) this transfer window has been Tomas Soucek, who was [on loan](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/startseite/verein/379) at the club last season and therefore doesn’t feel like a a new signing. Combined with the [sale](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/startseite/verein/379) of young academy prospect Grady Diangana to West Bromwich Albion, this has seen owners David Gold, David Sullivan and Karren Brady receive [fierce criticism from many supporters](https://www.givemesport.com/1598125-west-ham-owners-called-the-worst-in-the-premier-league-in-damning-twitter-thread) of the club.

The criticism has not died down and the latest comments from Sullivan has further antagonised plenty fans as he said on [talkSPORT](https://twitter.com/talkSPORT), via [Sam Inkersole](https://twitter.com/Sam_InkersoleTM/status/1308716708904005632?s=20): “I cannot say for sure we’re going to sign anybody. As each day passes I get more depressed.”

The frustration of the London Stadium faithful is understandable as a failure to adequately strengthen a squad which finished [16th](https://www.skysports.com/premier-league-table/2019) in the Premier League last season could make it a slog to try and stay in the division, a cause which has not been helped with two opening defeats.
