# Is Arsene Really Crazy Enough To Loan A £90k Flop?

**There’s plenty of rumours floating around the ether of the internet that Manchester City’s crèche monitor Wayne Bridge could finally be earning his £90,000-a-week salary with a loan move to Arsenal.**

City manager Roberto Mancini has stated he wants the left-back to leave in January, telling reporters:

> ***“It should be important for a player to play football. I don’t know why someone would want to stay when they know they cannot get in a team.***
>
> ***“I hope he will go.***
>
> ***It’s difficult for a player to stay here every day then, on a Saturday, nothing. When we are here he trains with us and, sometimes, he trains with the young players.”***

Former England left-back has not started a Premier League game for City since October 2010 and when asked how Bridge spends his Saturdays now, Mancini replied: “I don’t know…Golf?”

But surely Bridge is not what Arsene Wenger is looking for and Arsenal fans will certainly remember the devastation the 31-year-old caused in his own West Ham defence during his harrowing debut against the Gunners.

For those that don’t remember it went something like this; He played Robin Van Persie on side for the first goal, then got turned inside out by Theo Walcott as he scored the second,\
before taking out Walcott to give away a penalty for the third.

Both the *Sun* and *Mirror* have run this loan move story and it even began trending on Twitter as the speculation grew, but it would be a massive shock if Wenger decided to go down this route.

Bridge has supposedly already turned down loan moves to Celtic and a number of Championship sides so with Mancini looking to ship him out a move to lower-mid-range Premier League team is much more likely.
