# Jack Butland trying to force Premier League move

**Stoke City haven’t been able to ensure consistency in the current campaign as they continue to take a step backwards under Gary Rowett.**

The Potters would have set their sights on automatic promotion prior to the start of this season, but things haven’t gone to plan as they now chase down a play-off place. And, to make matters worse, it appears as if one of their star men is looking for a move away, [as according to Sun Sport, Jack Butland is trying to return to the Premier League.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/7486070/transfer-news-jack-butland-to-use-wayne-rooneys-agency-to-return-to-premier-league/)

Jack Butland will use Wayne Rooney’s agency to return to the Premier League.

The England goalkeeper is leaving Beswicks Sports and is poised to join the ranks of Triple S Sports and Entertainment Group, who guided Rooney’s glittering career.

Harry Maguire is also a Triple S client and they oversaw Angus Gunn’s £10 million move to Southampton this summer, so Butland will be hoping to follow in his footsteps.

### **THE VERDICT:**

Jack Butland arguably belongs in the Premier League after a number of consistent seasons in-between the sticks, but he couldn’t help Stoke City’s sinking ship in the last campaign.

However, it appears as if he is making all the moves to force a return to the Premier League by switching agency groups to try and push through a move.
