# Everton: Fans fume over James Rodriguez comments

**Many Everton fans have been left fuming as some comments emerges from James Rodriguez.**

Speaking on his [Twitch](https://www.twitch.tv/jamesr1222) channel (via [Toffee TV](https://twitter.com/ToffeeTVEFC/status/1421206970934173698)), the Colombia international said: “They’re asking me where I’m going to play. I don’t know. I don’t know yet. It’s complicated. Wherever I’m wanted. Someone has to be at a place they’re wanted.”

It has recently been [reported](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-transfer-rumours/james-rodriguez-rafa-benitez/) that Rafa Benitez “doesn’t count” on Rodriguez and so the former Real Madrid star could be heading through the exit door at Goodison Park after just one season.

Rodriguez was a key player for the Toffees in the 2020/21 campaign, scoring six goals and supplying a further nine assists in 26 matches in total across all competitions ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/james-rodriguez/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/88103/plus/0?saison=&verein=29&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)), and so would be sorely missed should he make a move away from the Merseyside club.

Nonetheless, his latest comments suggest that he may not be wanted at the Blues, which could be an indication that he will leave before the summer transfer window shuts.
