# Wolves: Fans react to Jerome Boateng transfer news

**Many Wolves fans have been left reacting to some shock transfer news involving Jerome Boateng.**

As per a report from earlier on in the week by [Bild](https://sportbild.bild.de/fussball/international/fussball-international/jrme-boateng-olympique-lyon-wusste-nichts-von-seinem-verfahren-77645468.sport.html), which has since been shared by [Talking Wolves](https://twitter.com/TalkingWolves/status/1438140653712576524) on their Twitter page, the Midlands club had contacted the former Bayern Munich central defender before he moved to Lyon in the summer window.

They reportedly offered him more money, but he was advised to sign for the Ligue 1 team instead.

It would certainly have been a shock move given the defender’s frankly remarkable [haul of trophies](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jerome-boateng/erfolge/spieler/26485), but he is 33 years of age now, and has suffered from various [injury problems](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jerome-boateng/verletzungen/spieler/26485) in the past.

As the Molineux faithful have now brought in Yerson Mosquera as well, they are pretty [healthy](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wolverhampton-wanderers/startseite/verein/543) in the centre-back department, and so perhaps it is a relief that they did not end up signing Boateng, especially as he is also embroiled in various [legal controversies](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-58500267) at the moment.
