# Liverpool: Fans react to Jordan Henderson injury

**Liverpool had a night to forget on Tuesday as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid but injury to Jordan Henderson made a bad evening even worse.**

The captain was forced off late on with a hamstring injury, with the [club now confirming](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/387691-jordan-henderson-injury-details-confirmed) (per their official website) that he will miss up to three weeks of action, including the crucial return leg at Anfield.

Henderson will also miss the FA Cup fifth-round clash against Chelsea, though he will aim to be back for the March league games against Everton and Manchester City, matches where the Reds could confirm their title win.

However, every cloud has a silver lining, and some fans are optimistic because of his injury, as it allows others to step up to the plate, namely Naby Keita.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain got to call to come on for the injured Henderson in mid-week so it would seem that Jurgen Klopp favours him, but since Keita has just [eight league appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/naby-keita/leistungsdaten/spieler/302215) this season many supporters are calling for him to be given a chance.

Here is some of the reaction to the England international’s injury.
