# Liverpool: Fans react to Jordan Henderson debate

**Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson has had a stunning season this time around.**

The 29-year-old is the Reds’ captain, and he has played an important role in the middle of the park for them. As it stands, they are [25 points](https://www.skysports.com/premier-league-table) clear at the top of the Premier League, and they were on the way to going the campaign unbeaten until they were beaten 3-0 by Watford at Vicarage Road – a game Henderson missed [through](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jordan-henderson/leistungsdaten/spieler/61651) injury.

He has even been [tipped](https://talksport.com/football/658561/liverpool-jordan-henderson-player-of-the-year-durham-bent/) to win the Player of the Year award – all of this praise is some way off the perception of him just last season, when supporters of the Anfield outfit would [lay in to him](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-fans-slam-jordan-henderson-12283343) regularly.

The Empire of the Kop has even taken it a step further. Steven Gerrard recently compared Henderson to Manchester United legend Paul Scholes (BT Sport [via The Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gerrard-makes-henderson-scholes-comparison-18150146)) – make of that what you will – and Twitter page Empire of the Kop has even [included Henderson](https://twitter.com/empireofthekop/status/1254041321423208454) in the age old debate of who is better between Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes.

Incredibly, they have actually rated [£25.2m-valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jordan-henderson/marktwertverlauf/spieler/61651) Henderson – according to Transfermarkt – as third in that list, above Scholes – this has the Reds supporters reacting. They have taken to the social media platform to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments below.

> Love Hendo. But this makes me lose faith in society completely.

> The Hendo type player is what the ‘golden generation’ needed. But the refused to budge from a 4-4-2
