# Journalist thinks it would make little sense for Wolves to sell Conor Coady now

**It would make little sense for Wolves to sell Conor Coady at this stage of the transfer window, says [Express & Star](https://www.expressandstar.com/) journalist Luke Hatfield.**

According to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-tottenham-have-opened-preliminary-talks-over-signing-coady-from-wolves/), Tottenham have opened talks to sign the centre-back as his former manager Nuno Espirito Santo continues the revamping of Spurs’ defence.

The north London club recently signed Cristian Romero from Atalanta, while his team-mate at the Gewiss Stadium Pierluigi Gollini has also been brought in to strengthen the goalkeeper position.

Ultimately, given their Wolves connection, it is not a surprise to see rumours about Coady linking up with Nuno once again. For the Midlands club to sanction a sale this late in the window, though, would be a silly thing to do in the eyes of Hatfield.

*“For Wolves, it would make very little sense to sell now,”* Hatfield told **TT**. *“I think Wolves would be a little bit silly to let Conor Coady go unless a massive offer came in for him purely because you’ve got so little time to replace the player.*

*“We’ve still got two or three weeks until the transfer window closes, but it’s much harder to get a deal over the line than many people might think.”*

It is certainly something for Wolves to think about if Tottenham do end up coming in with a bid for their captain, with the new season practically here.
