# Liverpool: Fabrizio Romano makes exciting Jude Bellingham claim

**[Liverpool](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-news/) are already in contact with Jude Bellingham’s representatives and will be in the race to secure his services, according to [Fabrizio Romano](https://www.givemesport.com/88084060-liverpool-transfer-news-contact-jude-bellingham-move).**

### The Lowdown: England call up

Bellingham got the nod from Gareth Southgate last week and will be [representing England](https://www.englandfootball.com/mens-senior-team/squad) at the [World Cup](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/world-cup-2022/). The 19-year-old already has [17](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jude-bellingham/nationalmannschaft/spieler/581678/verein_id/3299) international caps to his name and was part of the squad which made the Euro 2020 final last year.

The midfielder will be hoping to make Southgate’s first-choice XI after playing just [55 minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jude-bellingham/nationalmannschaft/spieler/581678/verein_id/3299) at the European Championships, and his domestic future looks set to be a hot topic of conversation throughout the upcoming tournament in Qatar.

### The Latest: Romano’s comments

Romano was speaking to [GiveMeSport](https://www.givemesport.com/88084060-liverpool-transfer-news-contact-jude-bellingham-move) regarding Liverpool and Bellingham, saying that the Reds will 100% be in the race to sign the Borussia Dortmund star in an exciting new claim.

The Italian stated: *“Liverpool will be in the race, 100 per cent.* *They’re already in contact with people close to Jude Bellingham, so Liverpool will be there.”*

### The Verdict: Fingers crossed

You’d expect that a move for Bellingham in 2023 won’t be straightforward, with Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United [also keen](https://theathletic.com/3611785/2022/09/21/jude-bellingham-transfer-battle-liverpool-united/) on his services.

However, the Reds could do with a marquee midfield signing given the [age profile](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/startseite/verein/31) and [injury-prone](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/ausfallzeiten/verein/31) nature of some of their current options, so Bellingham would tick a lot of boxes both in the short-term and long run.

Hopefully Liverpool can persuade the 19-year-old to move to Anfield and the [ongoing takeover saga](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiExeictLL7AhWQQcAKHf8_BH4QvOMEKAB6BAgMEAE&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.liverpoolecho.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Ffootball-news%2Fliverpool-takeover-state-play-fsg-25509345&usg=AOvVaw2prZhLWBAtP0iLm5KY2W0T) doesn’t have a negative impact on their pursuit of Bellingham.
