# Everton: Juventus looking to sell Aaron Ramsey in January

**Juventus want to offload reported Everton transfer target Aaron Ramsey in January, according to [Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1457919297041403906).**

### The lowdown

[Calciomercato](https://vivoperlei.calciomercato.com/articolo/pogba-solo-illusione) reported last month that a move to Goodison Park looked ‘increasingly likely’ for the 30-year-old, with the Toffees ‘ready to welcome him’. He has [played a mere 97 minutes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/26820/Show/Aaron-Ramsey) across Juventus’ first 12 Serie A matches, having [suffered three minor injuries](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/verletzungen/spieler/50057) already this season.

The Welshman has racked up 262 Premier League appearances during his time with Arsenal, netting 40 goals and laying on 51 assists (via [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/leistungsdaten/spieler/50057)).

### The latest

In a [tweet](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1457919297041403906), Romano wrote that Juventus are ‘planning to find a solution to sell’ Ramsey at the midway point of the season.

The Wales midfielder is ‘out of the plans’ of Bianconeri coach Max Allegri and finds himself ‘looking for a potential new challenge’.

### The verdict

Ramsey issued a reminder of his quality at the European Championship last summer, scoring a [crucial goal](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51197554) against Turkey in a group stage win to help Wales progress to the round of 16. His team-mate Joe Allen [said](https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/wales/euro-2020/news/joe-allen-lavishes-praise-on-gareth-bale-aaron-ramsey_451967.html) that the ‘world-class’ Ramsey had ‘answered the critics in special fashion’ with an ‘incredible’ performance that night.

However, his injury history makes for alarming reading, and even if he agreed to reduce his [enormous salary](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47203118) by 50%, it would still mean a commitment of £200,000 per week for Everton.

It’s surely too great a risk overall for an injury-plagued footballer who’s into the latter stages of his career.
