# Aston Villa: Fans react to Kaine Kesler Hayden recall

**Aston Villa [confirmed](https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2022/january/09/kesler-hayden-returns-to-villa/) on Sunday morning that they have recalled right-back Kaine Kesler Hayden from his [season-long loan](https://www.swindontownfc.co.uk/news/2021/august/fa-youth-cup-winner-kaiyne-signs-for-town/) stint at Swindon Town.**

And, as to be expected, a number of Villa fans have been giving their thoughts to the news on social media.

The 19-year-old, who has been capped by England at [under-20 level](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kaine-kesler/profil/spieler/626888), made [21](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kaine-kesler/leistungsdaten/spieler/626888) appearances for the League Two side, with the last of those coming against Manchester City in the FA Cup at the weekend.

Kesler Hayden [scored](https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/19834524.kaine-kesler-hayden-recalled-aston-villa-fantastic-fa-cup-display/) the goal against Walsall to take Swindon into the third round and [impressed](https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/19834524.kaine-kesler-hayden-recalled-aston-villa-fantastic-fa-cup-display/) against the Premier League champions, and it seems as if Steven Gerrard liked what he saw from the defender on Friday night.

It remains to be seen what the 41-year-old has in mind for the teenager, with Matty Cash the [only](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aston-villa/kader/verein/405) recognised senior right-back available to the Villa manager.

### Villa fans react

Villa shared the news regarding Kesler Hayden on their [official Twitter channel](https://twitter.com/AVFCOfficial/status/1480109842727583750). Here is what these supporters had to say in reply, with one labelling the update as ‘big news’ and another ‘buzzing’ to see him back at his parent club.

**“Well this is a shock. Either we’re loaning him out to a team in a higher league or maybe Matty Cash has Covid or is injured and he’s come back to cover for him. From what we’ve seen though, this kid is perfect for the way we play”**
