# Manchester United: Journalist hints at Kamaldeen Sulemana scouting mission

**[Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/) may look at scouting Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana at the World Cup, according to The Guardian reporter [Ed Aarons](https://twitter.com/ed_aarons?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor).**

### The Lowdown: Sulemana profiled

Sulemana is just 20 years of age and is [primarily](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kamaldeen-sulemana/profil/spieler/746695) a left-winger but can play anywhere across the front three.

The Ghana international was of [interest](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9603531/Manchester-United-Liverpool-race-sign-12m-hotshot-Kamaldeen-Sulemana.html) to Old Trafford officials last year before he moved to Rennes, with the youngster contributing to [10](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kamaldeen-sulemana/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/746695) goals in [41](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kamaldeen-sulemana/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/746695) appearances so far for his current employers.

Talent scout Jack Kulig has described the forward as an [‘enormous talent’](https://twitter.com/FTalentScout/status/1444647061987725312), and Aarons has backed United to monitor Sulemana over the coming months.

### The Latest: Aarons’ comments

Aarons was asked by [GiveMeSport](https://www.givemesport.com/88075990-man-utd-will-be-scouting-very-exciting-17m-star-at-world-cup) about United possibly looking at Sulemana during the World Cup. The journalist believes that the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) giants may scout the attacker, labelling him a ‘very exciting’ player.

When asked if he believes the Red Devils will be on the case, Aarons replied: *“I really do actually, this guy’s very exciting. He was in Denmark until this season, and he moved to Rennes in the summer in a Danish record for the league for €20 million. And in France he’s doing very well as well, he’s a very exciting winger.”*

### The Verdict: Alongside Gakpo?

United are more likely to sign Cody Gakpo in 2023 than Arsenal, according to [Dean Jones](https://www.givemesport.com/88075357-man-utd-more-likely-than-arsenal-to-sign-55-goal-star-at-old-trafford), so Sulemana could be another potential attacking addition at Old Trafford.

Reinforcements in the final third could be of use in the New Year, especially with Cristiano Ronaldo’s future [still up in the air](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwj3vq-shIj7AhVZilwKHU0PBVIQFnoECCwQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Ftheathletic.com%2F3721502%2F2022%2F10%2F24%2Fronaldo-manchester-united-future-glazer%2F&usg=AOvVaw3O3-CLTtYz2bcGuMYRr5pS).

Should the 37-year-old move on, as has been [rumoured](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2022/10/03/cristiano-ronaldo-can-leave-manchester-united-january/), then signing either or both of Gakpo or Sulemana could be beneficial to Erik ten Hag, so the Ghana international could be a player for the club to track in Qatar.
