# Everton: Mina, Keane and Doucoure could all have long-term futures

**[Transfer expert Dean Jones](https://twitter.com/DeanJonesSoccer) says that there is a ‘strong possibility’ of Yerry Mina, Michael Keane and Abdoulaye Doucoure all having a role to play at [Everton](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/).**

### The Lowdown: Exit-linked

All three players were linked with a move away from Goodison Park in the January transfer window, with the Merseyside club [reportedly](https://www.footballinsider247.com/everton-tipped-to-green-light-january-overhaul-after-journalists-transfer-update-pundit/) wanting to trim Mina and Doucoure in particular off their wage bill.

The pair are the joint-highest earners in the squad on [£120,000-per-week](https://fbref.com/en/squads/d3fd31cc/2022-2023/wages/Everton-Wage-Details), while Keane is thought to earn [£80,000-per-week](https://fbref.com/en/squads/d3fd31cc/2022-2023/wages/Everton-Wage-Details) at the Toffees.

The latter saw a loan approach ‘[knocked back](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/everton-michael-keane-southampton-latest-transfer-news-rumours-updates/)‘ from Southampton, but has [worked](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michael-keane/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/118534/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=15856) with new manager [Sean Dyche](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/sean-dyche/) before at Burnley.

### The Latest: Long-term futures?

Speaking to [GiveMeSport](https://www.givemesport.com/everton-strong-possibility-fringe-trio-have-goodison-park-future-under-dyche/), Jones says that there is a ‘strong possibility’ that the trio have a long-term future under Dyche:

“*Yeah, I think there’s a strong possibility, I think that the traits that those guys have got is that they’re very dedicated, very hard-working and they can do the basics very well and that’s really what you need.”*

### The Verdict: Depends on relegation…

Mina, Keane and Doucoure’s long-term futures at the Blues are likely going to depend on whether they get relegated from the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) or not.

They are in danger of going down given their [league position](https://www.premierleague.com/tables), which would likely mean that a lot of their players will seek moves away with them not wanting to play in the Championship.

Keane at least possesses Championship [experience](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michael-keane/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/118534/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=GB2&pos=&trainer_id=15856), so could stick around, but persuading both Mina and Doucoure to stay may be more difficult.

Nonetheless, their wages would have to be reduced significantly, so a lot will depend on whether Everton are still in the Premier League come next season.
