# Liverpool: Fans delighted with news on Kenny Dalglish

**No-one is immune to the current pandemic making its way across the planet, including those associated with Liverpool FC.**

So far, over 1.7m are [confirmed](https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6) to have been infected, and the real number could be an awful lot higher. Of course, professional football has been [suspended](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51962751) due to the situation, and it remains to be seen when it is once again safe to take the field.

Reds legend Kenny Dalglish is one of those to have been [touched by the disease](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/announcements/392764-a-message-on-behalf-of-sir-kenny-dalglish-and-family). He was already in hospital with another issue, but he was tested for the illness, with the exam coming out positive.

The good news, though, is that he has now been [discharged](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-8211725/Sir-Kenny-Dalglish-leaves-hospital-positive-coronavirus-test-recover-self-isolation.html) from hospital as it seems he is currently asymptomatic. As you can imagine, the supporters of the Anfield outfit are absolutely delighted with this update, and they have taken to Twitter in their droves to share their pleasure – one fan even called it the “perfect news”.
