# Liverpool: Fans love Premier League update

Liverpool were two wins and [six points](https://www.skysports.com/premier-league-table) from behind crowned as Premier League champions before the current pandemic began to wreak havoc across the planet.

At first, there seemed to be a desire to continue, but it soon became clear that there was no other option but to [suspend](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/premier-league-season-suspended-indefinitely-21808781) the campaign until it was once again safe to play. As such, there has not been a ball kicked since March 9th in the top tier, which was over a month ago.

There had been rumours that the season could be null and voided, but the [latest Premier League update](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11974992/premier-league-unlikely-to-restart-before-june-8-with-aim-to-complete-season-in-five-week-period) indicates that there is a still a commitment to getting the campaign finished. It now appears that, if all goes perfectly to plan, the term could re-start on June 8th.

This has delighted Reds fans across the world, it would seem. The supporters have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
