Barcelona: Fans love Ter Stegen wonder-save to stop Pique scoring header in training

Barcelona appear to have recovered from their early-season meltdown where they won just two of their first five games. They’re now just two points away from top-of-the-table Real Madrid and sit joint top with Borussia Dortmund in their Champions League group.

Key to Barcelona’s form is Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, who has gone from strength to strength since Claudio Bravo left for Manchester City in 2016 (BBC).
After the Brazilian left, he was given both Champions League and La Liga duties and the club haven’t looked back. Last season he had a pass completion rate of 83% and that’s increased to 86% this season (per WhoScored). He even managed to bag an assist last month.
We now know his heroics extend to the training field too, with Barcelona’s official Twitter account posting a video of him saving a Gerard Pique header from around three yards out. Ter Stegen uses his quick reactions and agility to get down to his left and stop his team-mate from scoring.
Pique reacted by hugging Ter Stegen in disbelief and the replies to the tweet were full of praise for the German.
