There is currently tension at Barcelona between the board and the playing staff, according to Sport.
Recently, defender Gerard Pique has been critical of the club’s pre-season schedule, which he believes “did not help” their start to the season as it was “a lot of travel and little training”.
He then continued to make digs at the Barcelona hierarchy after their 2-0 victory against Getafe on Saturday, when he seemed to indicate that he believed members of the board were responsible for negative articles about the squad in the press.
Pique said: “We know the club, we know the newspapers that have close ties with the club. We know who writes the articles, even if they are signed by someone else.”
It isn’t just the former Manchester United man who has spoken out against the board this season, either. Indeed, star forward Lionel Messi has also had his say, questioning the club’s transfer policy and particularly their decision not to re-sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain.
All of this makes the atmosphere around the Catalan club a little toxic at the moment, and some supporters seem fed up with how president Josep Maria Bartomeu and the board are currently running Barcelona. Alternatively, others think that the players are the problem as a few of them think they run the club.
Here is what some of their fans have had to say about the unrest at the club…
Piqué, Valverde and Bartomeu must leave Barca. This situation can’t continue like this.

Why should Messi even speak up about transfer policy? Management crisis going on obviously

This tension should have started in pre-season and the players should have spoken their minds out its late though
