Barcelona: Fans think Sergio Busquets is finished after Slavia Prague performance

Several Barcelona fans believe that Sergio Busquets is now past his best after watching his latest performance against Slavia Prague in the UEFA Champions League.

The Spanish midfielder has been a key player for the Catalonian club in recent years after graduating from their infamous La Masia academy. Indeed, he had played a total of 545 games for them prior to the game against Slavia Prague, scoring 13 goals and providing 37 assists (via Transfermarkt).

During his time at the Nou Camp he has helped Barcelona win eight La Liga titles, six Copa Del Rey titles and three UEFA Champions League titles amongst others (via Transfermarkt).

However, despite that success, he is now 31-years-old and some supporters think that he is no longer good enough to be starting for the Spanish giants.

He struggled against Slavia Prague, his passing accuracy was just 79%, he played zero key passes and both of his attempted long balls were inaccurate. He was ultimately brought off after 77 minutes and finished with a WhoScored rating of just 6.74.

With the likes of Frenkie De Jong, Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal, Arthur and Sergi Roberto also at the club, they do have plenty of other central midfielders.

And it seems that their supporters would like a combination of those players in the starting 11, with many of them believing Busquets needs to be dropped…
