According to talkSPORT, Xavi will not be joining his former team-mate David Villa and Manchester City’s Frank Lampard at New York City FC in January.
All summer the 34-year-old was linked with a move stateside with his future at Barcelona hanging in the balance after the arrival of the new manager Luis Enrique.
But it has become clear that he is settled again at Barcelona and seems to have fitted seamlessly into the new regime under Enrique.
New York City FC have enquired about Xavi’s availability and this initially left fans believing that he would be lured into a move to join his former team-mate David Villa.
But his agent Ivan Corretja has denied rumours linking him with a move to the Big Apple and insists he is settled and wanted at the Camp Nou.
He said: “Xavi is happy at the club and the coaching staff are happy with him – he will not leave in January.
“It is true I was in Manchester but not to talk about Xavi.”
