Barcelona could hand Moussa Wague his first start of the campaign against Leganes after the international break, according to Sport.
Is this the worst Barcelona team of the 2000s?
Nelson Semedo is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with an injury – likely around five weeks (as per Sport) – while Sergi Roberto is suspended for the clash.
This leaves manager Ernesto Valverde with somewhat of a selection headache ahead of the Blaugrana’s upcoming league match against Leganes.
Wague should, in theory, be called upon to start the match considering he is the only other right-back in the first-team squad, though Valverde has been reluctant to use him at all this season, deploying central midfielder Sergi Roberto on the right-hand side of defence instead of the 21-year-old.
With Roberto ruled out through suspension, though, there is a huge opportunity for Wague to feature, and, if he does, he’ll have a great chance to show his manager exactly what he is capable of.
These Barcelona fans certainly want to see Wague handed a start against Leganes:
