Barcelona: Some fans don’t believe Junior Firpo is good enough for the club

Junior Firpo scored his first goal as a Barcelona player on Saturday, when he pounced on the rebound from Carles Perez’s strike against Getafe, as shown in the highlights video on the La Liga YouTube channel.

His overall performance during the game has led to the Twitter account barcacentre giving the 23-year-old praise for the willingness he has shown to learn:

However, there are many Barca fans who are having none of this, claiming that he has not been good enough, regardless of whether or not he will work to improve.

The 23-year-old has started 3 La Liga games for Barca this season, coming on as a substitute once, scoring 1 goal and picking up 1 yellow card, as per WhoScored.

He has averaged 2 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, 0.5 clearances and 0.3 blocks per game, but has also made 2.3 fouls on average, while he has averaged 0.5 key passes and 0.5 dribbles.

A selection of Twitter reaction to his performances, including posts from underwhelmed Barcelona fans, can be seen below:
