The prolific striker has been linked with the biggest clubs across Europe over the course of the season but despite making it clear he wants to play elsewhere in the future, he has stated that he is focused on the job at the Vicente Calderon.
“I’m really at home with Atletico and I’m still under contract here,” the Colombia international told Fifa.com.
“I’m sure that I’ll taste life in another league at some point in my career, but right now I’m only thinking about my club, in growing as a player and doing my bit to help us keep winning trophies.”
The Daily Mail reported back in November that Chelsea were looking to the striker to replace misfiring £50 million man Fernando Torres and Falcao certainly fits the bill in terms of a replacement for billionaire owner Roman Abramovich to ponder.
Atletico boss Diego Simeone recently disclosed to Radio Marca that he is resigned to losing the former Porto striker and the 26-year-old could be available for around the £40m mark during the summer as Madrid look to cash in on their prized asset and we can expect a competitive bidding war.
