Cristiano Ronaldo: King of the Back Heel

Just when you thought you had seen it all from the man, Cristiano Ronaldo proved that there is plenty left in the locker. The Real Madrid star has scored countless wonder goals during his glittering career and he managed to bag get yet another outrageous back heel against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

Not only was the goal pleasing on the eye but it also carried great significance for Real, as the 1 nil victory means that they were able to maintain their 10 point lead at the top of La Liga over arch rivals Barcelona.

Ronaldo is on a different planet this term for Madrid, his latest strike brought his tally for the season to a staggering 36 in 37 matches and has bagged 123 in 125 appearances for Los Blancos. The fact that he isn’t considered the best player playing in La Liga says all you need to know about Lionel Messi.

The former Man United star has made a habit of scoring in this manner, he has managed to score a number of back heel goals over the years. Even though this is surly to be one of the best goals of the season, the Madrid forward believes that he may have scored better in his career.

Ronaldo told Marca.com:

“The goal was not the first of its kind in my career because I scored a similar one in Manchester. I have to watch it on video but I have a feeling that the goal I consider to be the most beautiful of my career may not be one that others consider as being the prettiest.”
