At the Football Transfer Tavern someone we know from his days atNewcastle United is Emre and according to Goal.com, the player has officially left Spanish side Atletico Madrid for Fenerbahce back home in Turkey.
The midfielder has struggled to break into the successful Atleti side this season and given the vast amount of talent in the squad, the Turkish international felt that a move away from the club was the best option. In an expected move back to his homeland the player will now pen a deal with the Istanbul giants on a two-and-a-half year contract.
Of course it has only been six months since the player actually left Fenerbahce for the ill-fated transfer to Spain and the club have claimed they are thrilled to have him back. President Abdullah Kigili told the club’s official website that: “When he was away, Fenerbahce missed him and he missed Fenerbahce. Emre will want to retire at Fenerbahce. We are pleased.”
Emre is of course 32-years-old but obviously feels that he has plenty left to give and is keen to repay the constant faith that his new employers have shown in him.
Is this the right move for Emre? Let us know your thoughts below.
