Inter Milan are preparing to launch an “Operation Kun” to sign Sergio Aguero according to Barcelona based paper El Mundo Deportivo. Aguero has been linked heavily with Chelsea whilst Manchester United are said to be interested but the Spanish paper insists that Jose Mourinho is very keen to take the Argentinean to the San Siro.
Atletico Madrid have said numerous times throughout Chelsea’s interest that Aguero is not for sale and they are particularly unwilling to sell him during January with much of their season still to play for. Aguero’s impressive performances have continued though and Inter are looking to get over Atletico’s reported £40 million price tag by offering Portuguese winger Ricardo Quaresma to Atletico as part of the deal.
As for Aguero himself, the Argentine has insisted that he is happy to stay at the club and will honour the contract he signed with Atletico. He is quoted on KunAgueroFans.com as saying
“I’m sure. I’ve always told the club that I’ll be stay here until June and that even then I’ll only leave if there’s an offer that’s good to them and they tell me so. I’m staying here until June and I’m going to fight to be in Europe [with Atletico]”
El Mundo Deportivo isn’t 100% convinced though and point out how Aguero’s wish to ensure he stays in Argentina’s plans for the upcoming World Cup could lead to him wanting a move to a bigger club and that Atletico may have to sell due to mounting debts.
Aguero’s been in good form this season, leading Atletico’s goalscoring charts with 11 goals in 21 games.
