Inter Milan Go Tit-For-Tat

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is planning an audacious January swoop for former AC Milan favourite Kaka. Kaka, currently at Real Madrid, could be allowed to leave for the right price following the summer signings of Mesut Ozil and Sergio Canales. Italian rag Corriere dello Sport say Moratti has already spoken to Madrid boss Jose Mourinho and is confident a deal could be done.

Kaka is a modern day legend. He won everything there was to win with Milan. From midfield he scored seventy league goals in one hundred and ninety three games for Rossoneri. He’s also a World Cup winner having been part of the winning 2002 Brazil squad.

Taking Kaka to Inter could be a risky move by Moratti though. Last month he underwent surgery on a long standing knee problem and won’t be back until December at the earliest. Signing a player who’s had a major operation and only having a maximum of four weeks to see how he’s recovered is a gamble. He might not come back the same Kaka.

The signing of the Brazilian playmaker would seem almost petulant to me. Inter fans weren’t too happy about AC Milan taking their former star Zlatan Ibrahimovic on loan for the season. The big Swede didn’t exactly help relations with his mouthing off either.

The main stumbling block would be Kaka himself I feel. He loves Milan so may not want to join Inter due to his loyalty to AC.

Perhaps Moratti is trying to get one up on Inter’s illustrious rivals. As if to say ‘you sign one of our former players, we’ll sign one of your former favourites’.

Whatever the reason it would be a sensational signing. And should he fully recover from surgery I’m sure Rafa Benitez wouldn’t mind having a former World Player of the Year in his side.
