Relief all round in The Transfer Tavern as Joaquim Piera from Spanish newspaper Sport reveals that Brazilian wonderkid Keirrison has finally signed for Barcelona.
The young Palmeiras forward is training in his home city of Curitiba, Brazil while he awaits the green light to travel to Spain to join the La Liga giants, according to the report.
Blaugrana directors are “already looking for a [loan] club where the 20-year-old striker will be able to get minutes and experience under his belt next season.”
The delay in Keirrison’s signature has been due to the on-going transfer saga involving the sale of Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o and the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Serie A champions Inter Milan.
Joaquim Piera reckons the European champions are also after a new central midfielder at the Nou Camp and could use young Brazilian defender Henrique as a makeweight in any deal.
So was this a sangria-induced tale or a fine piece of journalism? Is the Brazilian starlet set to finally sign for the Catalan side? Should this rumour Fly or Die?
