Leeds United will be desperate to enjoy a successful January transfer window, as a number of quality additions would help their promotion push massively.
The Whites have been one of the form teams in the Championship in recent times under Marcelo Bielsa, which has filled supporters with plenty of hope as they look to catch Norwich City in first position.
However, they did suffer a huge setback on the transfer front recently, as according to AS (via Sports Witness), Leicester City have joined the race to sign Ibai Gomez.
Interestingly, Leeds United have been linked with the Spaniard and it’s understood that they will “return with an offer” for the winger.
He has established himself as one of the hottest topics over in Spain in the current campaign, having scored three times and set up two goals in La Liga.
But, Premier League side Leicester City have joined the race, which has complicated Leeds’ pursuit.
Ezgjan Alioski has struggled to have a positive impact on proceedings in the current campaign, as he continues to receive a lot of criticism from supporters. So, with the Whites looking to secure a deal for Gomez at some point in the future, perhaps he will be drafted in as a potential replacement for the Macedonian international.
However, Leeds will struggle to make anything of their pursuit as they suffered a huge setback with Leicester City joining the race, as they can offer him Premier League football and potentially even a place in Europe.
